FASTCOM Technology SA announces the completion of the project with RECHENZENTRUM Ostschweiz, in Switzerland. SMACS Flex and SMACS Mat solutions secure the flows of people and materials through separate paths for optimal security. The data centre will be certified to the Tier IV level.

The challenge: Rechenzentrum Ostschweiz wants to stand for excellence and efficiency. To achieve these goals, best in class solutions are used. Thanks to photovoltaics and sophisticated adiabatic cooling, it is now Switzerland's most energy-efficient data centre. The data centre is certified to Tier IV level, achieving the highest availability standard of 99.998%. The building is completely redundant up to the last rack. In this context, the security concept must be of the highest standard. In particular, all people flows and material flows must be secured. Typical flows are persons, handicapped persons, hand-luggage and large material.
 

The solution: In order to optimally secure the different flows, the solutions SMACS Flex and SMACS Mat are implemented. The SMACS Flex solution is a 2-door airlock completely integrated in the architectural infrastructure. The people flows, as well as the flows of handicapped persons, and the hand-luggage flows are secured thereby simultaneously. With an airlock size of more than 15m2, the SMACS Mat secures the flows of material.
Special modes, including emergency exit mode and specific pass through processes, are available.
